Sweet Life Patisserie
755 Monroe St – Eugene, OR
$1.50

In your basic chocolate-on-chocolate genre, this is a solid contender. While probably not quite as remarkable as the Triple Chocolate Cookie at Grand Central, I would certainly eat this cookie again and recommend it to anyone who digs this type of thing.

There’s not a lot to tell you that you can’t see for yourself in the photo (other than an explanation for why I don’t have a shot of the whole cookie. Which is nothing more than that I simply forgot to take its picture before I started mowin’ it down. Whoops.)

Okay, so…It’s chocolate. With semi-sweet chocolate chips. It is not entirely flourless, although the flour content does seem minimal.  It has a crispy exterior with a slightly bendy and chewy middle.   No nuts.  Oh, and also surprisingly salty enough for my taste.  I didn’t even have to break into my private, portable salt stash in order to enjoy it.

P.S. If you manage to make your way to Sweet Life, check out the Pumpkin Cookie with Brown Sugar Icing. Do it. Please – this is not to be missed.  I recently decided this one is on my list of top 5 cookies – ever.  Even if you think you don’t like pumpkin, buy this beautiful cookie and take a goddamned bite.  And if you still don’t like pumpkin after you take that bite, pass it along to someone who does.  You will be shy one cookie, but they will love you forever.
